Western Governors University (WGU) C838 Managing Cloud Security (CCSP) Practice Exam

The primary role of a Cloud Service Provider (CSP) is to own the datacenter and manage resources. This entails providing the infrastructure necessary for cloud services, including physical servers, storage, networking, and virtualization technologies. By managing these resources, the CSP enables organizations to access computing power, storage, and applications over the internet without the need for physical maintenance and management of the actual hardware.

CSPs are responsible for ensuring that these resources are available, secure, and scalable. This allows clients to focus on their core business activities while relying on the CSP to provide a robust and reliable cloud environment. The CSP also manages maintenance, updates, and other operational aspects of the cloud services, ensuring that users can effectively leverage cloud technology.

While compliance and IAM (Identity and Access Management) services can be aspects associated with a CSP’s offerings, they are not the primary role. Compliance is often more a responsibility of the organization utilizing the cloud services, while IAM is just one component of broader security measures. Similarly, providing cloud development platforms is just one type of service offered by some CSPs, rather than defining their primary role.
